Kookie is an old nickname that my maternal aunts used to call me. It was originally "Kuk-kuk" then the Kookie was added later. I didn't really mind it as growing up, I loved Cookie Monster from Sesame Street. I'm not sure if that blue monster puppet had an impact on my fondness for cookies... hmmm...
I found it an unusual nickname only to find out that there are already "Kookies" in the world as I cannot get it exclusively at free web email addresses and usernames anymore. Not a lot of people know that it's my nickname as I've always introduced myself and have used "Karla" for identification. Besides, I don't think I'll look back if you called me "Kookie" to get my attention. However, I like it as it gives me some sort of a "second identity". Plus, it's cute. :) that's all there is to it.
